As usual the most interesting subject matter was staring me in the face. I was sitting out on the balcony flicking through Brett Whiteleys Lavender Bay paintings wishing we had a view when I sketched this one. It's only partly finished but looking good.

As I ride to work most days i thought I'd ease in to drawing the human form with bike just to update a little figure drawing.

First Brisbane Painting

It's taken a while but I'm gradually starting to get a feel for Brisbane and the areas I like. The photo I used for this painting was taken on a grey day so I thought I'd use a bit of artistic licence. Pretty happy so far.

Welcome to 2007. Since my last post I have sold 3 more paintings including 2 ink sketches of Richmond that were commissioned locally. These can be seen on my artwork website. I am very encouraged by the style I chose and confidence of the lines which improved with each sketch.

I also displayed work in the 2006 Burnley Art Show.
